# Your dashboard

> How to read the Dashboard — your daily home view with summary, quick actions, alerts, and search.

Dashboard is your daily view of the home. It's the first of the five tabs along the bottom of the screen, so it's what you land on when you open eeva. At a glance it shows what needs attention, what's coming up, and a set of quick actions to add things fast.

  <Card title="Screenshot to be added" icon="image">
    dashboard-full.png — The full Dashboard on open, showing the top-left profile avatar, the "Good morning" greeting with the person's first name, the search and bell icons, and the "Today's summary" stat tiles below.
  </Card>
</Frame>

## The top bar

At the top of the Dashboard you'll see:

* Your profile avatar in the top-left — your first initial or photo. Tap it to open Settings.
* A greeting — "Good morning", "Good afternoon", or "Good evening" with your first name, depending on the time of day.
* A search icon — opens Search across everything in your home.
* A notifications bell — opens your notification history. A red dot means you have something unread.

<Tip>
  Settings lives behind the avatar, not in a separate tab. Tap your initial or photo in the top-left any time you need Profile, Household Access, Notifications, or Privacy.
</Tip>

## Today's summary

A row of stat tiles gives you the current state of your home at a glance:

<Columns cols={2}>
  <Card title="Appliances" icon="plug">
    How many you're tracking.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Upcoming" icon="calendar">
    Tasks, maintenance, and repairs on the horizon.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Alerts" icon="triangle-exclamation">
    Items that need attention now.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Repairs" icon="wrench">
    Repairs in progress.
  </Card>
</Columns>

## Quick Start

The Quick Start grid is the fastest way to add something. Each action opens the right flow:

<Columns cols={2}>
  <Card title="Scan Appliance" icon="camera">
    Add an appliance from its label.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Log Maintenance" icon="clipboard-list">
    Record upkeep or book a repair.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Add a task" icon="list-check">
    Jot a household task or note.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Add a document" icon="file-lines">
    Save a manual or receipt.
  </Card>
</Columns>

## Ask eeva

Below Quick Start you'll see an Ask eeva card asking "What's on your mind about your home?", or a Recently from eeva card if you've chatted before. Tap it to open the AI assistant and ask about your home in plain language.

## Alerts and upcoming activities

Further down are two sections that fill in as your home has activity:

<Columns cols={2}>
  <Card title="Alerts" icon="triangle-exclamation">
    Important items like safety recalls and warranties about to expire. When there's nothing, it reads "Important alerts will show up here!"
  </Card>

  <Card title="Upcoming Activities" icon="calendar">
    Tasks, maintenance, and repairs on the way. When empty: "Upcoming tasks, maintenance, and repairs will show up here!"
  </Card>
</Columns>

<Tip>
  See [Alerts & activity](/06-dashboard-alerts/alerts-and-activity) for what each alert type means and how they link to your appliances.
</Tip>

## Search

Tap the search icon to open Search. The field reads "Find anything" and looks across appliances, documents, providers, warranties, repairs, maintenance, recalls, insurance, subscriptions, and tasks. You'll also see recent searches and suggestions like "All appliances", "Expiring warranties", and "Recent maintenance".

## Nothing is showing in my summary or alerts

A new home starts empty. Add your first appliance from Scan Appliance in Quick Start, and the summary tiles, alerts, and upcoming activities fill in as eeva learns about your home.

## The Dashboard looks out of date

Pull down on the Dashboard to refresh it and pull in the latest alerts and activity.
