# Language

> Set eeva's display language and understand what changes when you do.

You can set the language eeva uses for its interface. Find it in Settings → Language.

    language-screen.png — The "Language" screen showing the "Display language" options — "Use device language", "English", and "日本語" — with one selected.
  </Card>
</Frame>

## Choose a display language

Under Display language, pick one:

* **Use device language** — follow your iPhone's language setting.
* **English** — "Default for North America".
* **日本語** — Japanese.

Your choice applies right away.

## What changes

The "What changes" section explains the effect:

<Columns cols={3}>
  <Card title="App interface" icon="mobile-screen">
    All eeva text, buttons, and chat use your chosen language.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Manual priority" icon="book-open">
    Auto-fetched manuals show your preferred language first.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Date & currency" icon="calendar">
    Follows your device locale, not your language choice.
  </Card>
</Columns>

<Note>
  Dates and currency always follow your device's locale. Changing the display language won't change how dates or prices are formatted.
</Note>
